Interim Director of     Campus Ministry
Krista Rowe

Krista Rowe is an undergraduate student studying Political Science and Community Organization at MSU with a projected graduation date of May 2011. When she attains her BA from MSU she plans to attend Pacific School of Religion in Berkley, California for her Master’s of Divinity. Krista has lived in Pontiac, Detroit, Cincinnati, Miami, and Atlanta. In May of 2010, Krista and her partner, Dr. Susan E. Harris, enjoyed a beautiful beach wedding on Lake Michigan. They now currently reside in Lansing with Sadie, their 95 pound puppy. Krista is a huge lover of breakfast foods, a consummate coffee drinker, and is quite passionate about her love of the color orange. There is chance that later in the year you might have to call movie goers anonymous due to her love of movies. She is very excited about the coming school year, the opportunity to get to know you, and the many ways in which “Open Hearts, Open Minds, and Open Doors” will be lived out.

Operations Manager
Sue Carley

Sue, the Office Administrator for Wesley, is here to be of service to you and this great ministry! She hopes that you will join us for the fantastic program that we have planned for this year.

A little bit about Sue – she's been married to her guy for 40 years. They have two daughters, a “son”-in-law and three grandsons: Ethan, 7, and twins Jack and Ryan, 4 years, who live in California. They are a close family even with the miles between them – "thank goodness for Skype!" It’s hard to believe, but at one time, Sue was very reluctant to use a computer or a cell phone.

Sue grew up “Downriver” and has lived in Colorado and California. She is now back in Michigan . Her advice to you is “Never Say Never," and she looks forward to meeting you if she hasn't already.

Introducing the new staff line-up for Fall 2010

Development Intern
Garrett Reinig

Garrett Reinig is going into his fifth year on staff with the Wesley Foundation. He believes in having fun no matter the situation and is always up for any random late night adventures anyone might have. Garrett was born in Bay City, MI but grew up in Freeland until the age of 9. He then lived and graduated in Howell, came to school and MSU and then spent three summers working in Illinois. He lives in East Lansing now, in a very convenient location for anyone needing help for anything Wesley-related. In school he is going to get a degree that will allow him to do Public Relations/Human Resources work and hopes to one day land his dream job of Events Planning. If you have any questions about anything, Garrett is your guy: if he doesn't know the answers, he'll help guide you to the right place. Garrett is excited for this fresh and new year for Wesley, and can't wait to create unforgettable memories with you!

Hospitality and Events Coordinator
Jeremy Franklin

Jeremy Franklin is a sophomore at MSU studying Family Community Services so he can later pursue a Master's degree in Family Therapy. He was born in Tacoma, Washington, but after a bunch of moves has ended up in Vicksburg, Michigan for the past seven years. He loves to play music and "rock his face off for Jesus" in the praise band. He is also a big Anime and video game fan, which is actually the inspiration behind his biggest hobby: making full-size replicas of objects found in video games and Anime. He loves to play crazy games with people outside, ranging from ultimate frisbee to whatever else people can come up with. If you need someone to hang out with on a boring school night, then Jeremy is your guy - just call him up and he will see what he can do! He is looking forward to working with you and praising God alongside you this school year!

IT/AV Coordinator
Allegra Smith

Allegra Smith was lured to Wesley after a dozen students crammed into Stan the Tan Van to trek to her dorm room and wish her a happy 18th birthday with a scrumptious chocolate cake. Consequently, she will do anything for Wesley... or chocolate. She's studying Professional Writing (Editing and Publishing) with a Digital Humanities specialization in her sophomore year at MSU - a first-generation Spartan in a family full of Wolverines (groan). When she's not studying or singing in the praise band at Wesley, she enjoys reading, thrifting, playing Scrabble, watching indie films and old movie-musicals, and quoting Glee like it's her job. She loves to chat and go out for tea (or coffee!), so drop her a line by phone, email, AIM (darth leggers), Skype, talking drum, smoke signal...

Marketing and Public  Relations Coordinator
Heather Swarthout

Heather “Swarty” was scared the first time she came to Wesley, but upon meeting a variety of people who enjoy dancing at random, laughing at dorky jokes, and coordinating footwear, her fears were laid to rest.  Not only did they join her in such activities, they let her play her guitar in the band and cooked for her incredibly fickle stomach.  When not at Wesley, Heather likes to watch outdated movies, drink black coffee, and chew the ends of pens. This is her second year at State, where she is studying for a major in math, and a minor that allows us to tell you “se habla español.”  Her life goals include working for an insurance company, developing an immunity to iocaine powder, and owning more dresses.
